      In countries other than India, publishers do not accept unsolicited manuscripts - authors have to go through the agents. Read more about Literary agents: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Literary_agent

      You're welcome.
      The concept of querying through Literary Agents is catching up in India too. I suppose soon publishers will stop accepting unsolicited manuscripts.
